Just cos I know someone could immediately go here, let me affirm that, yes, the subject of this talky-talk is in itself a form of punditry. So feel free to apply everything in this ish to this ish. And so, wasting no time, let me not bury the lede and get right to it …
I was about to leave a comment last night on your ello page about your mlk quote, but life happens even to old guys, so I’ll mention here, pundit-like, that I heard and saw Dr. King give his dream speech live on black and white tv in 1963. I was watching with a Black college buddy among others, so it was cool, but I’ve had many years to see that the roots of bad things run deep in society, so like the man said, it’s still an undone deal, with a lot of root canal work still do do.
I’ve loved me a pundit back when I was all up in MSNBC in the days of Keith Olbermann and the beginnings of Rachel Maddow. Dana Milbank was my favorite. I find that I’m not as interested in those things anymore or in talking about those issues. I think at some point we’re every interested in having an opinion, staking it, and showing it off. I don’t feel the need to do much of that anymore unless it’s topical.
Now, I’m a bit of a damn liar because I have a book fragment full of advice, but it’s about leadership and my real world experience. I admit I’m a novice and that’s kind of the point.
